Nobdesigns Cigar Punch
A punch is a small argument about how a cigar should open. A cutter takes the whole cap off. A punch removes a single core and leaves the cap intact, so the wrapper stays bound and the draw arrives concentrated on one point rather than spread across an open face.
The Shuriken is built around that single point. Where a crude punch is shoved into the cap and tears its way in, this one turns. The cutting ring rides on a bearing: you set it against the cap, apply light and steady pressure, and rotate. The blade cores the cap cleanly instead of crushing it. The name is deliberate. A shuriken was a small blade that did its work through precision and control rather than mass or force, and the same principle governs this tool. Placement does what a heavier hand would only ruin.
The body is fixed and holds two apertures. A rotating cover turns to expose the one you want and closes again to protect both: a wider bore of roughly 9.5 mm and a narrower one of roughly 6.5 mm, so one tool suits both slender and thick ring gauges. A removable air needle, stored on the back of the body, clears the cored plug of tobacco from the ring after use.
Materials. Body: 6063 aluminium alloy. Rotating face: zinc alloy. Air needle: 304 stainless steel. Internal components: ABS. The cutting action runs on a bearing.
Dimensions. Approx. 105 mm (L) × 45 mm (W) × 17 mm (D). Weight approx. 140 g. Apertures approx. 9.5 mm and 6.5 mm.
Care. The cutting ring is finished with a raw, unpolished edge and should be kept dry. Wipe with a dry cloth after use. Do not use water or a damp cloth, and do not store the tool inside a humidor. Remove the air needle after each use and clear any leaf debris from the ring. A cloth pouch is included for storage and carry.
